A daily miasma of frivolity by two wanna-be cultural critics. Or: just, like, some good links, dude.

I’m all up for interpretation, but I don’t really agree with those note changes. Also, hiphoploop.wav is not working with the phrasing of the original Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy at all, guys.

So it seems that the upcoming (in the U.S.) film The Adventures of Tintin, which is based on three classic Tintin comics from the 1940s, is the “perfect cross” between Pirates of the Caribbean (a 2003 film based on a 1967 ride) and Indiana Jones (a 1981 film).

I do believe that the feeling I am currently experiencing is nausea.

This Gooplus ad should have ended after fifteen seconds. Seriously should have just shown the logo right there and finished.

Eight of Twitter’s three hundred million users agree: this kind of advertising is not at all indicative of desperation.

(Also: fuck you NBC for making this ad private and then reuploading it with no apparent changes no fewer than twice while this post was queued. If the video is broken, sorry! You might be able to find it on NBC’s YouTube channel under the title “Grimm – Quotes.”)

((Hey what do you know, it was pulled again. Thanks, dicks. Here’s a reupload by “Altessa10,” who knows how long this will last.))

It saddens me how fake the second commercial is in particular. Jackie Chan is approaching 60 after all, but still.

Here’s a Japanese TV spot for Ace Combat: Assault Horizon, out today for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

I’d play it.

Just saw this commercial for some flashlight glowy toy thingy that I’m sure I would’ve been all excited for fifteen years ago.

I am still excited by this commercial, but only because it uses the “oh no!” sound effect from Kid Pix, which remains one of the greatest sound effects of all time. It’s used in response to a line of dialogue starting at 0:44, “with regular glow pads, you’re stuck in one place.”

Kid Pix: fuck yeah.
