A new series of unpublished images has been unveiled in London. The photos are headed for auction in New York on July 20.

Photographer Mike Mitchell shot the images when he was 18 years old, and have been sitting in his basement collecting dust for 40 years. The collection is comprised of 50 lots of unpublished and never-before-seen photographs of the Beatles’ first visits to the US in 1964.

In the early 1990s a young Edgar Wright, who would go on to direct Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, put together two music videos on a VHS editing deck. One of them, “Wheels on Wheels”, is above — you can view the other one “Gun Fetish” on Wright’s website.

I think these are both just fantastic. The themes work well, the editing is smart and he’s got a great mix of films in there, considering these were made in the VHS era. (And plus the Beatles tracks he chose are both great.)
