A daily miasma of frivolity by two wanna-be cultural critics. Or: just, like, some good links, dude.

I’ve been cranking 4mat’s Decades the past couple of days. Electronica-flavored chiptunes (or maybe vice versa) make for excellent coding music. The styles switch from track-to-track, going from straight up dance (“Paper Dolls”) to DnB-ish territory (“Only the Beautiful Survive”) and so on. It’s good stuff, and you can stream the whole thing for free on Bandcamp.

Here’s “1989,” the second track. Starts off in your face with the jagged synth rhythm before settling into a groove, and then at 1:17 out blasts this fantastic textural section. I love it.
